- Get Started While You’re Pregnant

If you are still pregnant, it is normal to gain weight, but that shouldn’t allow you to throw caution to the wind and start eating chocolate cake for breakfast or a family-size bag of chips for an afternoon snack. You will have cravings, and you should indulge yourself from time to time, but prudence now pays back greatly later on. Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you can be a couch potato. Walk around the block once or twice a day. This will benefit you and the baby by getting your blood flowing and getting fresh air into your lungs.
2. Start walking

Start walking as soon as you can after giving birth (as long as your doctor gives you clearance). This will get your body moving and burning calories. Buy a fitness tracker and measure your daily activity then gradually start to increase your steps every week by 10 percent as you get stronger.
3.Do Post-Natal Exercise

Want to get back your toned abs and perfect waist? A good post-natal exercise can help you return to your pre-pregnancy body weight faster. Post-natal exercises are usually simple exercises such as walking, water aerobics (after your bleeding has stopped) and light weight programs. It will also reduce back pain, leg cramps, constipation and improve your sleep. Exercise is also a good activity to improve your mood and cope with the various challenges of motherhood. While mommy makeovers or post-pregnancy surgeries can promise a much faster shaping of your body, a good post-natal exercise can reward you well in the long run.
4.Sex Is Still Good

Every healthy woman knows that sex is good and a recent pregnancy should not forestall having an emotionally and physically good time. You will want to have healed enough, usually four to six weeks, so that there is no discomfort; but try to get back into the pleasure of things as soon as possible.
You will want to regain good control of your bladder and strengthen your pelvic floor and Kegel exercises will help with that.
5. Get into strength training and small bursts of cardio.

Not only is it time efficient for the busy mom, but it also increases your metabolism and burns the baby fat. Try doing some squats with shoulder raises and lunges with triceps extensions then shuffle from side to side for a minute to get the heart rate up. Directions: Lift your arms to shoulder height leading with your elbows with your palms facing downwards. Then gently lower the rams back to the side of the body. Bending your elbows close to the torso with your palms facing towards the body.
6.Breastfeed

Breastfeeding helps you shed some extra pounds that you may have gained during pregnancy. Babies who have been breastfed also tend to be healthier than those who haven’t. Since breastfeeding can make you lose about 300-500 calories a day, it’s quite important to eat extra calories during your breastfeeding period to maintain an appropriate and healthy diet.
However, just because you are breastfeeding doesn’t mean you can eat whatever you want. The best way to keep your weight in control is to have proper diet every day.
7.Rethink Your Whole Eating Philosophy

When you were pregnant, you may have felt as though you could eat anything and get away with it. You will need to change this mentality after the baby is born. Adopt a few new rules if they were missing from your diet before your pregnancy. Each of these strategies will help improve your metabolic rate and cut your hunger.
8. Spice up your cardio

Spice up your cardio by adding some hill intervals (short bursts of higher intensity drills) to work the glutes, hamstrings and quads. Try to finish your cardio (walking, hiking or gently jogging) with walking lunges and modified push-ups with the knees on the floor.
9.Give Your Body Time to Recuperate

Is it realistic or healthy to slim down right after pregnancy? The answer a big NO. Experts are strictly against diet programs or heavy exercise during post-pregnancy. Remember that your body is still in healing stage and you don’t want to rush things. You should give your body enough time to recuperate and restore normal processes. The healing stage can take up to 12 weeks or more, during this stage it’s important to avoid cutting calories and going into heavy exercises to lose weight.
10.Join the Company of Other Mothers

Misery loves company may be clue here. Not only good for moral support and sympathetic conversation, but you can also see what other mothers are doing that works for them. A mom who is on a second or third child can impart a lot of wisdom to a first timer.
Also, it might be easier to take up jogging or going through a video workout routine if you have some others in your situation doing it with you.
